Assamese Children Literature

what do you think of Assamese literature for children? Well, we have Lakhminath Bezbarooah, we have Navakanta Barua, Nirmalprobha Bordoloi... but they all are living on history. Literature can not survive merely based on past. One may say we have Sahitya Academy winner for children literature like Gagan Chandra Adhikary and others who, with their limitations doing their best for Assamese literature for children. But what is our position comparing to Indian perspective?

I want to quote here a few lines from Gulzar. The poet-turned-reluctant lyricist now has said goodbye to films, and concentrating on his poetry. Now busy with his writing for children, Gulzar in a recent interview with GREATER KASHMIR has said that Assamese literature for children is "zero" : "Bengali and Malayalam are much better. Even Marathi is good. However, Punjabi and Assamese are zero again.”
